AI for trades
ServiceCrown AI is an assistant inside the operational system a trade or service business already uses for customers, jobs, technicians, schedules, quotes and invoices. It can answer from those live records and prepare supported actions, while consequential changes wait for the owner’s confirmation and every tool call is recorded.
ServiceCrown AI is AI software for trades and service businesses, built into the field service management workflow. The AI Assistant works across the business’s own operational record: jobs, customers, team, scheduling, quotes, invoices and the knowledge base. It answers from the live record rather than from a separate copy.
This makes it AI field service software rather than a general writing tool placed beside the business. The assistant does not need a separately maintained copy of tomorrow’s jobs or last month’s invoices: it uses the same authorised ServiceCrown records the team sees in the application. A business can also maintain a knowledge base for its own services, prices and policies.
The underlying field-service workflow remains visible and usable without the assistant. People create and manage records in the ordinary product screens; AI is another controlled way to find information and prepare supported work, not a replacement for the operational record.
Customer details and history, job details, priorities, statuses, notes and the technician assigned to the work.
Technicians, their working hours and time off, scheduled jobs and the availability derived from work already booked.
ServiceCrown quote and invoice records, including the operational statuses needed to answer what is waiting, accepted, unpaid or overdue.
Services, policies and other information the business deliberately keeps in its ServiceCrown knowledge base.
Access follows the business and channel boundaries enforced by the application. The internal assistant is for the business team; the customer-facing Website AI receives a smaller, separate tool set.
An AI assistant for a trade business is useful when its answer can be traced back to the work. These examples show the record used and the boundary between answering and changing something.
For the operational detail behind these examples, see job management and scheduling, quoting and invoicing, and job costing and profitability.
Seven sensitive actions — scheduling, assigning, completing, creating or converting quotes, invoicing and sending an invoice — pause for the owner’s confirmation before they run. Preparing an action does not mean it has happened. The confirmation view describes the proposed change, and cancelling it leaves the record unchanged.
Set the time and move the job onto the schedule.
Put a named technician on the job.
Move the operational record across a material lifecycle boundary.
Prepare and save a draft quote; this does not send it.
Turn an accepted quote into its job without creating a duplicate.
Create the invoice record from the job.
Email the existing invoice to the customer.
A confirmation authorises the pending action the application has stored; it is not permission for an open-ended sequence of later changes. Unsupported writes are refused before they reach confirmation.
Every tool call the assistant makes is written to an audit history: what it did, which business system it touched, which channel asked, and how it ended. The history distinguishes a successful read or change from an action awaiting confirmation, a cancelled proposal, a denied request or a failed tool call. It can be filtered by result, channel or business system.
This history supports review; it does not turn AI output into a guarantee. Owners remain responsible for checking customer, scheduling, quote, invoice, tax and accounting information before relying on it or sending it outside the business.
The internal assistant works across the authorised operational record: jobs, customers, team, scheduling, quotes, invoices and business knowledge. Supported sensitive actions use the confirmation layer described above.
Website AI is a separate customer-facing assistant a business can embed on its own website. It is limited to four tools and the business’s knowledge base. It is not yet generally available. Starting a trial or buying a plan does not enable Website AI.
When released, Website AI can answer from the business knowledge base, take a new customer’s details, log the work they need, check availability and book a time. It is not given invoice and financial records, revenue and reporting visibility, provider administration or internal administrative tools.
A business can connect Jobber and ask the ServiceCrown assistant about supported customer, job, technician and team-member data. ServiceCrown does not create or change Jobber records, does not schedule into Jobber, and does not currently expose Jobber quote or invoice lists through this connection.
That boundary matters when comparing AI job management software: an answer about connected Jobber data is not evidence that ServiceCrown has written anything back. Unsupported Jobber changes are blocked and recorded rather than being redirected into ServiceCrown as if they succeeded.
AI requests are subject to per-business usage budgets and rate limits. AI Assistant, AI Actions and Knowledge are included on Starter, Pro and Business. Website AI is coming soon and is not yet generally available. Starting a trial or buying a plan does not enable it. See current plan prices and limits.
A generic chatbot can draft text from what somebody pastes into a conversation. ServiceCrown AI is embedded in field service management: it can use authorised operational tools to read the current customer, job, schedule, quote and invoice records, then return an answer in that context. When a supported request would change a sensitive record, the application—not the model alone—creates the confirmation boundary and records the outcome.
The distinction is practical. A pasted spreadsheet can become stale as soon as another job is assigned. The live ServiceCrown schedule is the record the office and technician portal use, so an availability question is answered against the same work the team is managing. The same principle applies to outstanding invoices and customer history.
