Electricians
ServiceCrown is job management software for electrical contractors who run a team across many short jobs a day. It gives the office a schedule to dispatch from, each electrician a portal on their phone, every job a complete record, and an AI assistant that answers scheduling questions from the live board.
An electrical business rarely has one long job; it has twenty short ones, three vans, and an office deciding who goes where when the next call lands. The cost of getting that wrong is idle electricians and customers who are told “sometime this week”. ServiceCrown treats scheduling as the centre of the day rather than a calendar bolted on afterwards.
More on the schedule, statuses and timesheets: job management and scheduling.
Name, phone, email, address, notes and the job history that builds up automatically.
Its own site address (a customer can have several sites), job type, priority, description, notes, scheduled time, duration, the assigned electrician, and a status that moves new → scheduled → dispatched → in progress → completed → invoiced.
Skills, working days and hours, and recorded time off — the inputs scheduling uses to decide who is free.
Timer entries from the portal and office-entered timesheets, summarised per electrician and per job.
Material and other direct costs on the job; on Pro and Business, purchase orders received against the job and labour valued at each electrician’s cost rate.
Switchboard upgrades, rewires and fit-outs start as quotes with line items. Sending a quote emails the customer a summary; when it is accepted it converts to a job in one action without creating a duplicate, and the quote’s pricing carries onto the job and its invoice. Quotes track draft, sent, accepted, declined and expired, so the office can see what is waiting on a customer. Quoting and invoicing in detail.
Short jobs hide their margin. On Pro and Business, each job shows its labour cost (timer minutes at the electrician’s cost rate), materials and other costs against the invoiced amount, and the profitability report lists jobs by result and margin across a date range. Purchase orders to your wholesaler are received against the job, and the receipt creates the material cost line automatically. How ServiceCrown works out job cost and margin.
Invoices apply GST from your business settings (registered or not, GST number, default rate of 15% unless changed), prices are in NZ dollars, and invoices can be sent to Xero as drafts — manually, one-way, with ServiceCrown remaining the source of truth. ServiceCrown is operated by SERVICECROWN LIMITED in New Zealand.
Every plan is one monthly price for the whole business. Starter (NZ$39 a month) suits up to 3 electricians and 50 jobs a month.
